At the foot of  Le Mont Gerbier : the source of Loire

The Loire, the largest river in France, has its source there. In reality there are at least three sources of the Loire at the foot of the Gerbier !

Climbing Mont Gerbier

A path allows you to climb the 150 metres of ascent quite easily with good shoes. The return is on a different path. The tricky passages are secured by ropes.

The view from the top is breathtaking ! You can see flowery fields and herds (in spring or summer), the chain of volcanoes and the whole “Plateau Ardéchois” and sometimesyou can also see the chain of the Mont Blanc Alps to the Ecrins.
